The school site and buildings

The present school buildings are modern and were opened in 1967. The school stands in well-kept, secure and attractive grounds. There are two playgrounds and a grassed playing field, and the whole school site is hedged and fenced. There is a resident site manager and we are relatively free of problems such as trespassers, litter and dogs! The inside of the school is a bright, clean and stimulating environment and all the staff and pupils work hard to maintain this high standard. The main rooms are a hall/gymnasium, a separate dining area, and ICT suite, a library, offices, four classrooms and an integral nursery.

The classrooms

The classrooms all follow the same basic plan. Each class has a large working area including a carpeted quiet area and a tiled craft area. There are toilets, sinks and a cloakroom within each class and an outside door. This is the door children and usually parents use. A lot of equipment and resources are laid out in classrooms and children learn to use this equipment responsibly. At Foundation Stage when children are between 3 and 5 years old there is a large Foundation Unit to cater for their needs

Class numbers

Class numbers vary from year to year but are usually less than thirty.
